NX300 + wireless flash trigger + Yongnuo YN560 II Flash Speedlite

Hi I just wonder if there is somebody on this forum who uses this setup : (NX300 + wireless flash trigger + Yongnuo YN560 II Flash Speedlite ) or any other non Samsung speedlight.

I ordered some triggers from e-Bay both for Canon and Nikon and non of them worked with the NX300. It very rarely triggered the flash in sync with the shutter. Usually the flash has been triggered after the shutter is closed.

Is there any wireless remote flash trigger that can be recognized by the NX300 so I can control the 1st or 2nd curtain exposure timing?

I hope there is a solution!

Your flash should be triggered by the hotshoe flash in mode 2.

Which triggers did you buy, and what sync speed are you working with?

I use the nx210 with Yongnuo RF-603n triggers and YN-560 II's. One important thing to note is that on my nx210 I have to slide the trigger back slightly in order for proper contact to be made. I can't speak for other triggers but what I use now works very reliably.

As for front & rear curtain control I haven't tried that but I would assume it would work just fine. I will test it and post back in this thread on my results.

I do not want to use the little hotshoe flash, because it drains the battery and is not reliable enough in direct sunlight. My sync speed is always slower than 1/160

I checked these Yongnuo RF-603n triggers, but on e-Bay everywhere it says that is for Nikon cameras and it has N1 N3 version. Can you direct me to the seller that you bought it from?

Aah, i hear that the 602/n is the one for NX, 603/n require giggling. I have 602/n on order for two weeks (from hk), i will post how i get on if/when they arrive. Or if anyone else can try them out, that would be great.

I did indeed buy the ones for the Nikon system. I am unsure if it would matter or not but in my case the Nikon version works (with a minor adjustment).

The following kit works* for me reliably.

NX11, RF602/N, Metz 44 AF1 NX version.

*It consistently fires every other shutter press, which is not a problem I find.

I got the triggers and they work the same on the NX300 as on your NX210, I have to pull back just a tad to make it work.

As for the front and rear curtain control: it does not work since the camera does not senses that there is a trigger connected. I do not know why is that the NX300 doesn't recognize any off-brand flash or flash trigger connected to the hotshoe. Is this a firmware or a hardware problem?

Otherwise it works consistently for every shot. If I dial the flash power down to 1/8 power I can shoot in normal continuous drive mode, which is 5 fps RAW files and get the flash triggered in each frame. That's great!

The only problem is that when attached to the hotshoe and using the 18-200mm lens, the zoom ring touches the trigger and makes some annoying noise that freaks me out

I had the same issue with the larger size of the 50-200. My solution was to buy a Pixel TF-322, it's a hot shoe adapter that basically raises the height of the hot shoe 1/2" or so. Not an elegant solution but workable.

Re: NX300 + wireless flash trigger + Yongnuo YN560 II Flash Speedlite

Just to share with you some of my experiences.

I used below SpeedLites that come with standard hot-shoe (the one with only center pin contact) and they've worked wonder for me. They are 'Just What I Needed' - The Cars.

Viltrox JY-620 GN40 Full Manual SpeedLite

Viltrox FC-16 Wireless Flash Trigger with 2.4GHz 16 Channel, but I've got it from same JY-620 reseller.

Viltrox JY-670 GN40 Macro Ring Flash

All of them with the max flash speed of 1/250 (tested by JY620 reseller). So it's more than enough to use them with Samsung NX300 under the SS of 1/160.

My thread about their usage and results,

Viltrox JY-620 + JY-670 SpeedLites, FC-16 2.4G Wireless Flash Trigger

Fotga extension tubes + Viltrox JY670 macro ring flash

If you need more info about them, just let me know.

Cheers!

Re: NX300 + wireless flash trigger + Yongnuo YN560 II Flash Speedlite

I got The nx300 and the Yongnuo YN560 II attached directly to the camera when I shoot in any mode the camera did not recognize the external flash on the display but when I start shooting the flash works. But the display is so dark when I shoot at night I can not see nothing, the image is so dark that I can not auto focus and of I use manual focus basically it's doit whit out seeing nothing...

Does anyone has this issue or how this is solved to see a clear image on the screen ?????.. this not occur when I plug the flash that Cannes with the camera if I'm shooting whit out activating the flash and if the image is dark I just pop up the flash and the image on the display and the histogram is being modified...that is great.. could be possible to do something similar whit the yongnui

No problem:

Turn on 'FRAMING MODE' > Menu > Camera Icon > FRAMING MODE = ON,
I use my Nikon SB800 in thyrister mode.
Just match your ISO and Aperture of the camera to the flash, and then vary them to obtain the exposure you want (on your LCD).

Re: NX300 + wireless flash trigger + Yongnuo YN560 II Flash Speedlite

My camera is the Samsung nx300 and doesn't have optical viewer finder..all has to be set on the screen.., I couldn't find the framing mode that you mentioned.

I normally set my iso 800 as max, and play whit the other parameters, but it take me shoot and around 4 pictures to get a proper one because I'm blind when I Shoot and I'm guessing and calculating the focus of the camera...at the end I got good pic but is frustrating..see example of the picture..at the moment when I took I couldn't see nothing on the screen juts calculating..

ISO 1000,   F5.6 , time 1/60, 55mm

also I can't set my flash to work auto and indicate the zoom  that I'm using...I try the manual, s1, s2 all modes on the flash  and i have to set it manual..isthis possible to work auto zoom??.

Any advise??

You can not be in Auto mode to see Framing Mode on the menu
as I described above.

Try P,A.S,M.

Your other issues can wait until you turn on Framing Mode.

Re: NX300 + wireless flash trigger + Yongnuo YN560 II Flash Speedlite

You will need to use triggers such as the PT-04s if you want to use wireless flash. They are simple 433mhz triggers and are about $50 USD for a whole kit (one trigger, four receivers).
I use them on everything - from the NX300, to nikon D700s, etc... they work with everything.
They also support up to 1/250 flash sync which is pretty nice.
