What manual focus 135mm f2.8 do you have?

The Panasonic 150 f2.8 will be expensive.
But there are many manual focus 135mm lenses available.
And with focus peaking on the G6 and EP5, focusing is easy.

What manual focus 135mm f2.8 do you have?
Are you happy with it? Show me your photos!

I have an Olympus OM 135mm f2.8 that I inherited from my grandfather. It's very nice, handles and focuses well and delivers some excellent images. I tend not to shoot with it too much, but have always been happy with it!

If I were in the market to buy a 135mm f2.8, I'd get a Nikon AI-S lens. I just love the image quality, build quality and feel of AI-S lenses!

Not exactly on topic, but hopefully close enough: I used a Pentax M 150/3.5 until it was stolen. Here are 2 pics OOC:

Closest I have

is an OMZ 200mm f4

It was a nice size on my E-520, but now seems large on my OM-D

Also tends to show a lot of haze if shot in bright sun.

Hardly ever use it these days

How'd you get a Super Takumar in OM Mount?

They only come in Pentax mount.

Re: What manual focus 135mm f2.8 do you have?

I have this Takumar 135/2.5, but I don't use it that much.  It's not that great.  I had a Pentax 135/2.8 auto aperture but gave it to my sister.  I wish I had it back as it was a better lens.

I did use it for some shots from the stands of some soccer (on my E-M5).

I wish Olympus would hurry up with that 200mm f/4.

Re: What manual focus 135mm f2.8 do you have?

To the OP:  You'll see that there are almost as many favorite 135's as there are posters.  Why?  It was a very easy focal length and speed to design while typically giving very good picture quality and true tele 'reach.'    It was the pre-zoom standard tele in the old classic prime triad of 28, 50, and 135.  My favorite:  135 f2 C/D Soligor.  2nd:  135 f2.3  Vivitar Series 1.  It is interesting too that nobody has mentioned the 135 2.8 Nikkor so I'll do so.  You really can do well with pretty much any of these.

Re: What manual focus 135mm f2.8 do you have?

No handy samples but I have a C/Y mount Zeiss 135/2.8 Sonnar.

Works nicely enough, focus is butter-smooth and they're quite inexpensive compared to some other more collectable lenases from the line. Can certainly recommend it for the µ4/3 owner.

No subsititute for my ZD 150/2.0, but it's a whale of a lot lighter.

Cheers,

Rick

Pentax mount, purchased new in about 1980. Very sharp-- surprisingly so. I'm away from my computer, so sorry, no examples to hand.

Re: What manual focus 135mm f2.8 do you have?

I was lucky and picked up a M42 mount Vivitar (Komine made) 135 mm f2.8 on EBay for $11.  It looked almost new.  Here are two images taken with it on the E-PL1. Best to view originals. It is really a nice lens and fun to use manually.  However, my Oly 40-150 does better and is easier to use.

These two youngsters were about 200 feet away.  A crop from the original.

This restaurant was also about 250 feet away.  Also somewhat cropped.
