Has anyone seen this?

I was thinking it may be a faulty battery, so I looked for a local dealer. Not only do none in the Northern California area carry the 1130 battery, but neither do Samsung or Amazon.

I have seen it on a brand new NX300 which had firmware version 1.00.

All the tricks about turning off certain menu options did not help. Trying both BP1030 and BP1130 batteries did not help. Updating to firmware version 1.13 definitely solves the "LCD with SAMSUNG logo flashing when NX300 is off" problem.

On the PC: Download the zip file. Upzip it and copy the nx300.bin file to the root of the SD card. On the NX300: Re-insert the SD card. Turn on the camera. Press Menu. Go to Tools > Device Information > Firmware Update > Body Firmware. The update procedure goes through 3 steps: Check, Part 1 and Part 2, with 2 reboots in between.

By the way, BP1030 battery does work with NX300.

I meant to write "version 1.31":

NX300 Upgrade File (Firmware) (ver.1.31) / Aug 28, 2013 / 240.25MB

Re: What does a green flashing light mean on the NX300 when the camera is off?

Hi.

I just got a NX300 with firmware 1.0 and updated the firmware to 1.31.

After the update the blinking green LED appeared and the camera wouldn't turn on unless I removed/inserted the battery. I reflashed again the firmware and the issues disappeared.

Hope this helps someone.

I replaced the firmware by the latest version and the problem is over. Now the camera works fine. Try it ;-).

Re: What does a green flashing light mean on the NX300 when the camera is off?

I had the same exact problem with my NX300 that I just bought. Flashing green light and flashing Samsung.  Updating the firmware totally solved the problem for me. Hope this helps.

It's simple to update the firmware for this camera, as long as you have the cd that comes with it. If you don't have that, then I'm not sure how difficult it may be.

Install the cd in your PC, then after several steps, click download firmware. Follow directions from there, plugging camera into PC and then choose update firmware on the camera screen(settings>device information>firmware update).  It solved my problem completely in about 10 minutes time.

Hope this helps, good luck!

I've seen the reboot loop before, updating the firmware fixed the problem.

Got the same problem - power off but green light blinks/Samsung shown on display; installed the latest body firmware update, V 1.4 and the problem is fixed!

Re: What does a green flashing light mean on the NX300 when the camera is off?

I found this thread while browsing this issue on google. I had the same issue and was super concerned as I have just got it. It appears despite camera showing update to latest firmware, there was a firmware update and once I clicked on Body Firmware update, it re-installed the firmware and then the blinking green light problem went away.

Hi, just want to give a feedback regarding "What does a green flashing light mean on the NX300 when the camera is off?"

I tried to switch the camera dial to AUTO then the flashing green light is off and no more blinking.

Could someone try it. If it works for them?

Re: What does a green flashing light mean on the NX300 when the camera is off?

Hello evreyone,

I'm in the same situation. I had the 1.34 firmware, and after updating to 1.44, it started with the flashing led.

I can't even power on the camera most of the times.

The AF sound off solution won't work for me.

Maybe I should downgrade somehow the firmware.

Any suggests?

Thank you Kaso. Great help. I had the same problem after not using my NX300 for a year and then replacing for the "comeback" the original battery with a new (not Samsung) one.
I did exactly follow your instructions, except the firmware version where I downloaded the newest one (had 1.00 before). Problem vanished, all fine again now.
