Re: today's insects

Thanks Jim , I spent a lot of time on the last ( a lot of time for me is 10 minutes) , it was a very interesting battle, ,so many shots were out of focus, this was best I could get today,  I don't think they were interesting in eating each other, it was more like "King. Of the Mountain"

Re: I know the feeling

Especially when this was a focus stacking pic and took 16 shoots without the creature moving even a peep...John

The first two are Aurora Damsel?

Nope, it's not Aurora (might be "Pale Bluet").

Here's what Aurora Damsel looks like head-on (and I wish I had one as nice as Drummer's):

Aurora Damsel

and

Aurora Damsel

Understand the name, once I saw the pattern on the wings, great catch, we do not have that species in the US, at least it is not in any book that I have

Thanks Brad.

Small Skipper

A busy background but I'm pleased overall with the picture.

The weather here in the SE of the UK is pretty hot and where I'm located it hit about 29° today so I didn't stay out long enough in the meadow to add a few more.

Very nice set.  Looks almost like a stealth bomber.

Re: More Bugs

Nice set, somewhat unusual species for me.  Like the first best as a straight image.

Nice set.  The last is rather strange looking.

Now we are getting somewhere.

Now I think the one I shot is a male Blue Fronted Dancer (Argia apicalis)
