What could I have done to get both kitty cat faces in focus. I am still learning!

Yukon and Galaxy hogging their favorite pillow

Higher F stop number on aperature would give deeper Depth Of Field (DOF).  You can control this by shooting in A (aperature) mode for an auto lens or if you are shooting manual you just control it on the lens.

As you go to higher f numbers you will notice the speed of the shots slows down.  Smaller hole, less light, longer exposure required.

The fact that everything isn't in focus really "pops" the cats eyes though and the hair on the neck is  sharp.  Looks good.

Grant.

Show me where you have been, what you have seen - one photo - anything goes as long as it's taken in June

I went for a bicycle ride with my wife today.  We always pass this site which has these 5 story tall solar collectors.  One looks like it's related to an old log barn.   Taken with the Sony 55-210mm and quality knocked down to 75% in Lightroom to keep size of the file down.

A fixer upper, but it's got lots of potential.

Yeah, barely can believe it myself, its been back to grey skies and rain again this week. "Flaming June" has lasted for just one day so far.

Re: June through your lens - anything goes

Hi everyone, this is my first post! This is an image I took on my university campus in Pennsylvania last week. Can anyone identify the bird? I keep seeing them around but I don't know anything about nature!

Taken at 210mm on an NEX F3. One of my first shots not taken on my phone, be gentle!

Just getting into photography, recently acquired a Sony NEX F3 with kit 18-55mm plus 55-210mm.

Thanks! Yep, beautiful colours and very pleasant character. I use mostly Hexanon lenses, and this is my first shoot with this sweet little Pentax lens. Before this, only Pentax I have tried is M55 f1.8 and somehow I din not like it this much.
