Great Lens for a Walkabout
1

I've had 2 of these lenses, both came as the 'kit' lens with a 60D. There are plenty of test reports available on this lens, and it delivers great bang for the buck. Good color rendition, a very handy focal length range, and my example seems to be sharper than test results would have you believe.

I don't use the long end too much, but it is there if needed. My only real criticism is the front group is heavy enough that it will change focal length if you lean forward, it could use a lock or more tension. I'd recommend it to those with an ASP-C especially if you are to own only one lens.

Re: Great Lens for a Walkabout

Old news.  Not a bad lens, but the current kit is the 18-135 IS STM which improves on the original.  If you're only going to have one lens, the STM would be nicer to own than the original 18-135 IS.
