Where on earth did you get that idea? I hope you're joking. I'd say more like 89.5%, NO WAY 90%.

Re: RX200 June 2013

It will most likely be announced on June 27th. Some sources have also said last week of June.

Same date as the Honamii/H2 phone (with new Honami JPEG engine - same as the NEX-7 successor will get) is expected to be announced. The Honemi/H2 phone is rumored to get a 1/1.6″ or 2/3" Exmor RS stacked sensor and Cybershot G lens. As well as Xenon flash, manual controls (as RX100), new image processing algorithm, similar to Sony’s Cyber-shot digital cameras and completely revamped camera UI, software goodies from Cyber-shot digital cameras of 2013.

"90% of all the rumors on the net now a days are true."

Obviously, this one wasn't.  Score one for theranman.

That said, it's hard to understand the lack of a VF on an otherwise very nice camera.  Maybe 2014?  Not rumor, just a rather necessary feature to convert the RX100 series into other than a "point and guess."

Re: RX200...too good to be true?

This is likely a new model line and not a replacement for the RX100 line. It will be more expensive and have a better lens. It will be larger and likely have a mic port. Maybe it will have the same video quality as the RX10 as well! Such a camera would nicely fill the large price gap between the RX100/2 and the RX10.

Re: RX200...too good to be true?

considering the op on that other forum originally posted this rumor back in may 2013 which was a couple of months prior to the release of rx100m2, it's likely that rumor was actually for the m2 and not an RX200.

What ? I use the rear LCD on my Sony A99 80%+ of the time.  Is the screen on the RX100 that bad ?

RX100 screen is just epic. Nex3 = 400.000 points, RX100 1.200.000 points.

Specs for the lens read as perfect for my needs. But ... why waste the sensor in a fiddly little slippery body for the "smallest" marketing hype? Put it in a weather proofed body a bit bigger with decent direct access buttons so that serious photographers have an real alternative to the G15 or P7700.

Nothing in the world of electronics ever gets bigger. Smaller is a powerful marketing tool something the Japanese have been perfecting for the last 50 years.

I am waiting for the day when an iPhone sports a real folded optics zoom lens and an integrated pop-up electronic view finder.

The RX100 M2 is bigger than the M1.

Re: RX200...too good to be true?

If that's the case, too bad the RX200 isn't the also rumoured RX2's little brother; i.e. having a fast prime lens coupled with a curved 1" sensor.
