NX300 vs NX210

Hi,

Initally I was plannig to go for nx1000, but as I am not in a hurry, I did some research and started to like nx210. Since NX300 was on the way I waited for nx210 prices to drop. Now they have and nx300 is out. The reviews are very positive on nx300, but is it worth the 200 EUR higher price tag compared to nx210?

yes it is, imho. slightly better iq, tiltable screen, much faster operation, focus peaking, faster af and above all a lot of headroom for further improvements via fw update.

Re: NX300 vs NX210

just the Lightroom License justifies it if not any of the add on features and the better IQ can convince you.

Nevertheless I would prefer the NX1000 to the NX210  as the grip is more comfortable there.

A point I like to make too is the NX300 is a lot more comfortable to hold if you have larger hands (not sure if you have smaller hands).  I find the sharp edges on the NX200 (and 210) a little pointy, and a little more awkward to hold.

I love the touch screen of the NX300, although I do take photos when I don't mean to, the ability to touch most of the screen and have the camera change the focus point to there and take the photo in a fraction of a second is very useful.

The NX300 has a bit less metal in its construction, but the better grip makes up for it.  As a counter point it isn't quite as sleek, but don't see this as being an issue, just fraction of an inch difference, doesn't mean much when you have a lens on it.

The touch screen is also really nice if you use the WiFi features at all, a lot easier to enter passwords and usernames with a touch screen

to add: the touch feature in combination with the larger screen makes it much miore comfortable to retouch images in review mode as you get a kind of smartphone feeling there.

The increased screen size is not really iimportant when shooting but on view mode you max out the size.

(Edit: compare that to the tiny Nex ones.....)

I have a NEX 3n for a review, this is the truth.  The screen is so small on it next to the NX300, and the 3n is low resolution too.  Pretty terrible in comparison  Also, the 20-50mm is a slow focusing lens for Samsung, and it still focuses as fast as the little 16-50mm power zoom lens for Sony.  Don't get me wrong, the NEX is fine, but it surprises me it is more popular.

Re: NX300 vs NX210

Thanks for the replies. Now it is to saving money and hoping for the summer discounts

As I have understood nx300 comes in two kits, 20-50 and 18-55. Which one to prefer?

Re: NX300 vs NX210

when it comes to AF and speed, clearly the 18-55 as well for OiS, but solely  for IQ its the 20-50 that is a tad better
