nx210 Flash help (radio transmitter aftermarket flash?)

got myself a "new" second hand camera to replace my Cannon 400d. at 500 euro for the nx210 with a 18-50mm, 30mm lens and  50-200mm lens i thought it was a steal. but now I’m trying to use my old flash (a really old vivitar 2800) on i was using with my cannon camera to work and it does not. im using a cheap aftermarket radio transmitter to bounce the flash upwards in mu miniature home studio. but it seems  they nx210 doesn't want to work with any with it.

does any one know of a cheap radio transmitter that will work? or do i need to get also a newer flash with it?

(if not it seems that the i will just put the nx210 on the marked again and get another camera)

Canon EOS 400D (EOS Digital Rebel XTi / EOS Kiss Digital X) Samsung NX210

From memory, Samsung prevented dumb flash firing since the NX200. You have to plug a Samsung-compliant flash...

The first thing I would suggest is playing with the physical location of the transmitter in the hot shoe. In my case I have to move the trigger back slightly for it to make proper contact. I happen to use the Yongnuo RF-603n trigger and have no issues with them beyond having to re-position them slightly. I use the NX210 as well.

I have no issues with my cactus V2 on my Samsung NX20 or NX300.  Some triggers work and some don't.  A point is Samsung paints the sides of the hot-shoe contacts, you might have to scrape the paint off that fine edge so the flash/transmitter can make a good ground contact.  This assumes the hotshoe is grounded, it might not be.  As I said, my trigger was no issue.

Not sure if that will help or not.  It might be your trigger has contacts that are annoying the Samsung camera.  Could try masking off the ones except the center.

I`m using cheapo CTR-301P radio trigger with two recievers on my nx200 and it works fine. You can grab it on ebay for 20 bucks or so. Nothing fancy but good enough for messing around when I feel like it (:

I assume that you are not including the NX200 in that statement as my NX200 works fine in Manual mode with an Olympus FL-36R flash (also in manual mode).  The camera has the last available firmware.

using the Yongnou flash a Cactus transceiver has worked just fine.  The Yongnou transceivers (the 603's you ordered) have worked as well. I have not used but have seen a pocket wizard fire the flash. I have also used the Yongnou on camera just fine.
Sadly I haven't tried anything older then the Yongnou 560exII flash.

I am using the 1.11 body firmware and 1.0 lens firmware.
