X-pro1 winter sunset
8

Well, still winter here in Norway. Depending where you are it is still a lot of snow. This picture is from Trysil from earlier this winter. It's taken with Fuji X-pro1, f/11, 1/140 sec, iso 400. Handheld with the XF 18mm lens.

Nice! Did you PP ?

Does it come straight out of the camera, or after some post processing? The exposure is quite balanced.

For me this is almost perfect. I love the sun reflecting on the snow and the fact you can see the texture in the snow. The composition is also excellent. The only minor  thing that I don't like is the red flare or whatever it's called in the trees. Perhaps you could remove this in post unless you like it of course.

I like everything about this landscape: the scene selection, composition (something, looks like a path, leading to the house – nice touch), light, colours and details (look at those tiny lights on the ski slope!). Did you say it was 18 mm lens?:)

Well done, thanks for sharing

While the colors of the sunset do not look that natural to me, your photo as a whole looks like a beautiful "work of art" - well composed, well exposed and sharp.

This is shot in raw, post processed in Lightroom 4.

Thank you howardfurman, and you're right, the colors aren't natural, and even the raw file looked a bit different. So, I tweaked the image into my liking, to give me the feel I had when I captured the picture.

I had just parked my car near my father's cabin in the woods, and I saw an incredible beautiful sun setting on the opposite side of the valley, and it was disappearing so fast that I actually ran to my advantage point so I didn't miss it.

And this is one thing I really like with my X-pro 1, I can see my settings even before I turn on my camera. And since I shoot in raw, I didn't care to check the white balance. So - snap! I got the picture.

And thank you everyone in this thread for your nice comments!

I like my 18mm a lot, and I'm a bit surprised every time read negative posts about it. Sure, I think the 35mm is sharper. But then again, the 35 is a very, very good lens.
