WB850F Firmware v210086

I see the Samsung WB850F has a new firmware dated January 8, 2013 available... not sure when it was posted by Samsung.  The version on it is 210086 and it looks like it was available well before January judging from the dates on EXIF information found on various photo sharing sites (flickr, etc.)  There is no change log or notes on the Samsung US site for this version, so I have no idea what it fixes.

Here is the link: http://www.samsung.com/us/support/owners/product/EC-WB850FBPBUS#firmware

My WB850F shipped with v207xxx (don't remember the full version) and still had the random battery drain issue experienced by quite a few people.  Now, that said 9 out of 10 times it was fine... full power the next day.  It only seemed to drain and be on empty if I really needed it for the day (Murphy's Law, I guess... thank goodness for spare batteries with this model). The last available downloadable version of the firmware was 206276 which was stated to help with the battery issue (as was version v205 before it).  I could not roll back to either of these versions since mine shipped with v207.

So, I took a leap of faith and I loaded up this new 210xxx version... and so far so good.  My questions are as follows: (1) is anyone out there running with this new version of the firmware? and (2) Does it seem more stable than the 205xxx, 206xxx, and 207xxx variants?

Thanks

Re: WB850F Firmware v210086

Hi,

I just noticed the update to firmware today (22 June 2013) and loaded it up. The only notation on Samsung's support website for the file was that it fixed a number of bugs. I'll see how it performs and post back here if anything strange shows up. I've been pretty happy with my WB850F. It packs a lot of capability in a small handy package. I always do the updates using the manual method (pretty much have to since I use Linux and not Windows or Mac OSX) and haven't had any problems.
