Rokinon / Bower / Samyang 8mm f/2.8 fisheye is a winner

The lens feels great on the NX210, and it performs very well for the size and weight.  Great sharpness, contrast, and easy to use.  People look good anywhere in the frame, not like rectilinear UWA that distort faces near the edges.

The f/2.8 is only availible for Samsung and Sony mounts, the 3.5 is cheaper, bigger, and less interesting.

Re: Rokinon / Bower / Samyang 8mm f/2.8 fisheye is a winner

Wrong.

There exists 7.5mm/3.5, very small for MFT.

http://www.foto-tip.pl/sklep/micro_4_3_mount-c-55_169.html

The "big" 8mm/3.5 fits ALL cameras (one lens + cheap adapters), small 8mm/2.8 version ONLY Samsung OR Sony.

With 8mm/2.8 you get problems with Sony, with 8mm/3.5 you get NO problems with Sony.

Samyang 8mm/3.5 and Samyang 7.5mm/3.5

There is a 7.5mm but that is for the 4/3 sensor, not APS-C, good for olympus, bad for Samsung and Sony.  I am talking about the 8mm f/2.8, looks almost the same as the 7.5mm.  I am guessing you thought there were only 2 lenses but there are 3.

Yes, the sunset photo was half a second shutter hand held, and it was cold out.

Re: Rokinon / Bower / Samyang 8mm f/2.8 fisheye is a winner

Samyang 7.5mm/3.5 on APS-C .... hehehehehehe

NEX7 + Samyang 7.5mm/3.5 (MFT) ... heeeello, it's APS-C!

I know 8mm/2.8 making troubles with NEX .... did you see pictures?

http://forums.dpreview.com/forums/post/50999333

I have Samyang 7.5 / 8 / 14 / 35 / 85 ... all excellent lenses,

but I NEVER would buy 8mm/2.8 (for NEX)!

The 8mm is probably my favourite lens

This is a shot I made when I had it on m4/3

On several occasions I was almost about to buy the 8mm f2.8 for the nx...would you recommend it or not?

Re: Rokinon / Bower / Samyang 8mm f/2.8 fisheye is no winner

ALL pictures I saw with 8mm/2.8 and NEX7 were catastrophal ... you need a color correction program for each photo. Reason seems NEX7-24mp, the effect is not/less with 16mp NEX.

I've NEX5/NEX7 - and noooooo problems with Samyang 8mm/3.5 - this lens has other construction

PS: my 8mm/3.5 fits ALL my cameras, NX, NEX, m4/3, Canon, ...

Ok, but what about 8mm f2.8 + nx (not nex!)?

I love the lens on the NX210, I haven't seen the same problems the sony people have.

It's a really good fisheye lens with my old NX10, but with my NX20 I don't like it very much. You may see why...

Re: Rokinon / Bower / Samyang 8mm f/2.8 fisheye is no winner

Hi thanks for your sample showing purple vignetting on the NX20 this was also reported by Eric in October and is the reason I have not purchased this lens.

I am interesed to know if anyone is using the 8mm 3.5 on the NX20 as there is a view being expressed that it is free from this problem - a sample image would be very helpfull

ouuuuh, bad! Same like with Sony NEX7. Lens doesn't like 20mp/24mp

I never had any problem with my Samyangs, wether with 8mm/3.5, not with 7.5mm/3.5
