Olympus C-4040 Zoom review

My first digital camera, I've had it for 1 month now. Bought it on the web in Germany, prices at the moment are down to 733 €.

My main reason for choosing an Olympus C-series camera is that they are the closest in design and operation to a regular SLR camera. Plus that they are very well built and have excellent image quality (although some newer digicams are somewhat better in the digital image processing department).

Likes/dislikes:

+ fantastic lens
+ excellent image quality
+ impressive battery life
+ huge amount of photographic functions
+ fits nicely in your hand
+ relatively light weight
+ handy remote control

- the LCD display on top could show more functions to prevent usage of the big LCD screen
- lens cap has to be removed before turning on
- viewfinder could be better
- some chromatic abberations with extreme light situations

Problems:

not all symbols are displayed on the LCD display on top
