Sony Mavica CD400 review
I have used this camera for only a couple weeks but have taken hundreds of pictures. The main attraction for me was the CD media.
I took a picture of my kids in the Tucson, Arizona desert (lots of detail in the surrounding plant life), printed an 8x10, framed it and put it in my office. Everyone that sees the picture is amazed (as am I) and surprised that it is from a digital camera. I used an SLR extensively 30 years ago. This has the same look and feel (like a real camera).
Autofocus outdoors at night worked really well.
I bought a pack of Memorex 210MB CD-RW and they work just fine.
Thanks to the reviewer for the tip on the LCD screen protector. I also bought the lens ring from Sony so I could add the UV filter for lens protection.
I use the camera on full auto but have experimented with aperature priority, etc. and had good results (desired depth of field, etc).
I have not found the CD write time to be much of an issue (however, I don't use the confirm before write option).
Haven't installed the software. I may not.
No camera problems at all.
