Minolta DiMAGE S414 review
After having changed from a Kodak to this Minolta I have found a vast improvement. The camera itself is a great piece of engineering for the money. Easy to set up and use it gives you great picture quality and at affordable price. I paid just under £300 for this camera on the week that it was launched. For me it was a choice between the S414 and the F200 and although the F200 had a couple more features I feel that I have made the right choice.
This is a camera that I would endorse for anyone who is thinking seriously about getting started in digital photography.
The movie mode is not what it could be and is very light intensive but then you buy a camcorder for movies and not a still camera, the only other gripe I have about the S414 is that it can be a tad irratic when you take pictures in the macro mode. Even with the "steady" setting in place pictures can be blurred if you move at all.
