Minolta DiMAGE E203 review

*GREAT COLORS!!! (when used in daylight) beter than all of the DigiCams I have ever put my hands on - including some much more expensive (and respected in the DigiCam world such as Olympus C 2000 zoom or Canon S10 for example) and with "great colors" I mean:
- very natural and close to the actual scene reproduction
- vivid, warm colors (it appears to me as if the wider (than only ISO100) ISO possibilities somehow always spoil the images in terms of vividness and colors.. don't really know why..)
*Well built, pocketable through light weight & small size
*only moderate Purple Fringing (light years away from the C-2000's or FinePix A303's for example
*good battery life
*USB connection (although see below..)
*Fast processing
*79 pictures at Max quality on 32mb SD!! ->thought the overagressive compression can be problematic on some occasions

OVERALL: VERY GOOD VALUE FOR MONEY, perfect choice for a novice or point'n shooter, very good images when shooting in daylight

*Limited low light ability - NOISE at low light areas (indoors, as well as outdoors), limited night shots ability (and there is no control over shutter speed)
*NO possibility for a manual control whatsoever - but as I said - not a problem for a novice user
*average macro ability (25 cm)
*ergonomics could be better
*zoom/select jog dial is unresponsive on occasions
*no lens cup/cover
*some barrel distortion, images taken at full tele require a tripod by other than day light, otherwise images can be VERY unsharp (you can try to be still as hard as you want , effect is the same)
*design: mode dial can be easily turned by mistake
*data transfere to PC slow for an USB
