Olympus D-40 Zoom (C-40 Zoom) review

Well, thanks again for your encouragement. I had looked at this camera coming down in price for about 1 year and finally bought it for £129 with a 6 months warranty as a refurbished unit. It came as a full retail product boxed as new. I'm used to a minolta S414, what a difference in flexibility, useability and crisp focus!!
I'm off on holiday for a week in April, I doubt the S414 will get an outing. The sheer pocketability of the camera makes it hard to beat. And the results so far have been amazing. As regards chromatic aberation and purple fringing, well I'm no expert but at £129 most products don't compare.
Certainly apart from learning which button to press when It's all been positive so far.

No problems other than changing to smart-media, shame it has 128mb limit. But cheap enough to buy Fuji memory sub £30/unit. I use 2100 Nimh rechargeables and battery life is not a problem.
I bought a smart-media USB reader, but camera downloads shots at a good rate, much better than S414 CF USB link.
