Canon PowerShot SD500 (Digital IXUS 700 / IXY Digital 600) review

No perfect performance

After 4 weeks of using this camera I’m a bit disappointed. During my holiday the camera was broken; the lens did not retract. Whatever I tried to fix it, it was broken &^%!@^$!#@

But that is not the only remark I have. (1) The picture is not sharp, and (2) the white balance is not perfect. Many pictures were too bright. (3) You can’t see how many minutes you have left with your battery this implicates that you have to buy an extra battery. You can’t asses how long your camera will keep working. In case you’re out of battery and the lens is out of the camera you have to wait until your battery is recharged again.

The positives are: it’s small, fast and easy to use.

Now I’m curious how long I have to wait until my brand new camera is repaired. When I read some other opinions I’m afraid I have to wait a long time…….

Well 1 year later:
My display is broken and the lens is working 4 out of 5 times This is not my camera I'm sorry.

Problems:

the lens did not retract
