Ricoh Caplio R3 review
If you are looking for camera with faster start-up, small form-factor, and an impressive zoom range on a modest budget this is the camera for you. The battery goes a long way on a single charge which overall makes it the ideal travelling companion. It is however not perfect, the focusing in low light is poor and if you want to take low-light natural shots your photos will be very noisy but I should add that its not much noisier than the competition. Most of the problem is the auto-exposure tends to select too high an ISO, thus boosting the noise which is fine/non-existent until 150ISO. I have written a review at : blog.twowolves.co.uk/2005/12/11/180
Rather noisey in low light.
AF poor in low light - must install firmware upgrades!
