Nikon Coolpix 7600 review
I've had this camera for 2 months, and find it to be an excellent point&shoot. (I
was moving on from a Fuji A210.) After several weeks on this site and others, I
chose it over a Panasonic Lumix LZ3 based mostly on the viewfinder that the Nikon
has and the Panasonic lacks.
The 7600 is not too small to operate, but easily pocketable. There is some shutter
lag, but really only in low light situations. There is not enough lag for me to have
tried out the multi-shot mode yet. It seems to me to be particularly good for close-
Contrary to another comment here it most certainly takes 30 fps video with sound
at 640x480. These tend to be best with very bright lighting. They are limited only
by the size of the SD card. The movie mode has image stabilization which you can
set as a default condition.
With a little attention to the many optional modes one can usually get a very good
image, especially at the default 7 megapixels. Battery life is excellent with NiMH
rechargeables. I have only paid $200 US for this camera and am amazed at what it
gives you for the money.
It is small enough that I sometimes forget I have it with me. Not much of a complaint,
