Canon PowerShot SD500 (Digital IXUS 700 / IXY Digital 600) review

Had this for not quite a year now. Looks great, nice and compact for travel and on the go use. Fast and excellent performance for the most part (see below) Great pocket camera overall just minor nitpicks

Problems:

Battery life could have been better its fine but not as excellent as it could have been.

Purple fringing.

red eye but its common among compacts and the included software can remove it just fine.

Not fond of the plastic door to the USB port brings down the construction quality. LCD is a nice size but needs higher resolution.

For this class the features are fine but if you want complete control via manual controls don't expect it. You have ISO and white balance and a gimmicky feature called my colors and thats about it.
