Pentax *ist DS review

Very good camera. I am using it for 6 months now and I love it.

It is very well built and quality material are used, it simply blows away competition in this area. Also it has very nice large and bright pentaprism viewfinder it is great for manual focusing. No wonder I rated it 5 for construction.

Pictures are generally very good quality, high ISO is great, very low noise. However sometimes camera has a tendency to an underexposure. Not a big deal as I shoot RAW and can adjust exposure later, but it would be a little annoying for JPEG folk. Therefore 4 for image quality.

It is very easy to use camera, however I miss possibility to change focusing mode, metering mode, ISO and WB without going into menu. I'd like to have dedicated buttons for this purpose. Also AF could be better (faster and more sensitive in low light). Therefore "Ease of use" gets 4 from me.

Despite it's weaknesses DS ir great camera for it's price. Well done, Pentax.
