Fujifilm FinePix S5100 Zoom / Fujifilm FinePix S5500 review
An ok camera.
I bought this a while ago at the cash converters, and thought it was great.
However, after using SLR (film) I can see the huge limitations that this camera has - such as the zooming and focusing are quite poor.
The fact that it only allows up to 512mb memory cards is poor, and also the very slow continuous shoot is annoying, and the video is also average (and short)
The noise (grain) is quite bad on this camera - much worse than D-SLR cameras or other larger point-and-shoot cameras, but it is much better than most smaller compact cameras.
Also, the lack of hotshoe is quite poor - an option for an external flash would be good.
Slower startup, take about 5 seconds from off to take a photo, and takes a while to save RAW photos, even on high speed cards.
The continuous shoot is not available in any mode, except auto, and is also quite slow (about 2 per second)
The display is slightly small, and the viewfinder could be a tad further towards the side, as your nose continually hits it, and leaves greasy marks.
Changing into RAW mode from JPG is a pain, you have to go through several button presses to reach the JPG/RAW mode.
