Pentax Optio W20 review

Owned this camera for 4 months now. It is really easy to use, point and click as advertised. In this mode it gives acceptable results, though foucing in low light is difficult. Picture quality is acceptable, and my suggestion is to lock the auto ISO at 64-100. From 200 onwards the noise becomes apparant.

The lack of advanced functions such as manual shutter really put me off. They should have included these. I agree that this camera is a point and shoot, but hiding these features deep inside a menu for advanced users to turn on would have been good.

Apart from that the waterproofness is good.

Menu is well designed and easy to navigate.

All the dozens of shooting modes are simply stupid ! Why not give a basic "auto" mode that has full auto and a handful of shooting modes and a "manual" mode that gives you more advanced control for customized shooting ?

LCD scratches easily. I have already 3 large scrateches on mine simply from wiping of dirt.

Lens cover would be really useful too. I don't understand why they ommitted it.
