Sony Cyber-shot DSC-T50 review
The T50 is a nice camera to use. The touch screen makes the many options easy to
get to, without having to wade through so many menus as my old camera
(Cybershot P-120). Although the body is made of metal, it still feels a little delicate.
I'm not sure it would survive if I dropped it. I also worry about the sliding lens cover,
as those kind of moving parts have a tendancy to wear out over time.
Generally though, I find the camera easy and pleasant to use. The real problem is
the image quality. It stinks. Images come out noisy in anything less than fairly bright
daylight. I have played with the settings to try and get rid of it to no avail. The CCD in
this camera just doesn't work well without plenty of light.
I have also noticed a slight blurring at the edges of my images, along with a very
slight fisheye effect. I put this down to the camera being as compact as it is.
I was pleased with my previous Sony camera, so I bought this one. I think next time
I'll investigate other brands. The poor image quality is simply unacceptable in a
camera of this price.
