Konica Minolta Maxxum 7D (Alpha-7 Digital / Dynax 7D) review

I picked up one of the last ones as KM transitioned over to Sony. I got a good
discount on it so price was not a factor and have used it for the past 2 years. I also
picked up some KM D zoom lenses that were priced nicely from various stores.
Previously I shot mostly Nikon SLRs and Sony fixed lens digital cameras.
I have shot in the U.S. and overseas and the camera has held up well. The images
are good quality because the KM are good quality and in some cases, exceed some
of the other brands in image quality and performance. I also recently bought some
Sony primes - updates/tweaks of KMs - and they are excellent too.
I used the camera for a month in Greece during an extreme heat wave in summer. It
worked great walking around for hours in the sun all day long on two islands,
Athens, and N. Greece.

Problems:

The body of the 7D is kind of heavy. Newer models by Sony are much lighter. Some
people like a slightly heavy body and the 7D fits that bill.
Like all DSLR cameras made around the same time, it is not perfect and sometimes the
meter is off a stop or the focus hunts. But these sort of things even happen on many
DSLR brands made in 2008.
