Samsung GX-10 review

I have only begun playing with my Samsung GX10 after using a variety of simpler digital cameras for 8 yrs. I bought this Pentax clone in order to use my collection of lenses from my 20yr old Pentax ME Super 35mm camera. - 20 mm and 50 mm Pentax lenses and 28 mm and 70-200 mm Image brand lenses.

Problems:

The Pentax brand lenses used to work (using manual focus etc.), but after trying to make my other K mount lenses work, now none of them do, and I just get a flashing "f" on the LCD screen where the f stop should show. The camera does not recognize anything but the kit lens, and the manual offers no help or explanation.

The camera operating manual does give an explanation about this very precisely. Per the default setting the camera does not allow any other manual lenses to use except the A-series with the additional A-position on the aperture ring.

For enabling the use of older PENTAX K-lenses, such as the M-series without the A-position of the aperture, you need to go to the custom menu 2, choose "Use Aperture Ring", third menu item from above and put it to "On".

Now you can attach and use any older lens with or without the A-position of the aperture ring. You will be using the stop-down metering method and multi-segment metering will not be available but the lens will be perfectly usable.

14 years after the original query I'm sure the OP will be grateful of a response

It made you react quickly in less than 24 hours, however, with a totally useless comment!

You could have answered that earlier as a Pentaxian, the lens ring issue is the same.
