Nikon D60 review
Matrix metering can rather easily over-expose shots. Compared to several other Nikon compact digitals I’ve had (5400 8700 & 8800) and the Olympus, this is a disappointment. Nikon should not have changed it – “if it’s not broken don’t fix it”
The 18-55mm kit lens is generally good but image quality was less than I was used to. I bought a used 18-70mm Nikon zoom which is much better, almost as good as my 2 bridge cameras, and this cost less than £100 on ebay. I highly recommend this upgrade to anyone with a D40 or D60. It’s quite a bit bigger and heavier so there will still be times when you’ll want to use the 18-55.
