I am guessing that most people reading this and other user reviews posted here are considering this camera and are trying to verify information they already found somewhere on the internet then try to make up their mind if it is a good buy or not. Well it depends ... I own do also OM-D (E-M5) and initially have bought this camera as a present for someone, but ended up keeping the little guy and did not touch OM-D ever since. Here is why ... as they both have very similar SONY made image sensors ... there is nothing to distinguish between the pictures taken by the two. Then the E-PM2 is smaller, lighter and with a 20mm Panasonic pancake it is the most pocketable m4/3 incarnation ... which easily replaced my previous carry always camera. Yes! OM-D adds some icing on the cake with weather resistant metal reinforced body, higher resolution screen and built in viewfinder and as such is definitely more of a "real" camera especially when coupled with Pana-Leica 25mm... but at the same time it is also a lot more bulkier and expensive. With the E-PM2 you get 98% of picture quality if used with quality optics (I only use prime lenses - even some exotic such as 7.5mm fish-eye Samyang or 19mm EX DN Sigma). They all work fine and AF is about the same as OM-D (fast it is). Still at the end of the day E-PM2 gets the job done.
Unfortunately with MF lenses the OM-D has an added advantage of higher resolution screen (and built in viewfinder) for critical focus check. Obviously you can offset that by adding an external viewfinder (VF-2) to a small E-PM2, but this adds unnecessary bulk and frankly due to lack of locking mechanism VF-2 has a tendency to slip off quite easily (and such an accessory cost almost as much as the camera itself)... still ... choice is yours. I went ahead with E-PM2 and never really regretted that ... (but I do have a buyer remorse since my expensive OM-D is now gathering dust) LOL

Problems:

Camera is getting unbalanced with heavier optics ... wrist strap or other means to secure it is a must.
