What is this thread about? I think it has got out of hand completely. As I see it, it's a struggle between Fuji HS50 vs Panny FZ200. Both cameras have their advantages and shortcomings. Right now it seems to be very low and childish level here ..... just my opinion.....

In my opinion, it is about the Fujifilm HS50 and what it performs relative to similar cameras, so you can make a decision about which camera to buy.

That is the point these fools cannot accept Perh.  You want a constant lens, get FZ200 period.

You want a camera with excellent handling, ergonomics, lightning fast AF and STS and framing, get HS50 period.

They will trash the IQ of HS, look at their thrash too so dead even.

We should actually be comparing cameras of equivalent long range focal lengths- that is, this should be about Fuji HS50 vs Canon HX50 vs Nikon P510/520 vs Sony HX300.  The Panny and X-S1 shouldn't be considered in the same category.

Re: Reviews, hands-on, samples of HS50 Part V

People just need to come to terms that not all of us have the same likes, needs, etc. That's why we have so many different models out there- to each his/her own.

And just because someone likes a different camera it doesn't mean that the one you have is bad lol. Not all people like or need the same things- variety, people!  Any of these cameras can take wonderful pics at lower ISO and any of them can take bad ones too.  At this level, to be honest, it comes down to more the photographer being the variable rather than the camera (not that the photographer is bad, but that he/she may not be suited to a particular camera or may be well suited to it while someone else isn't.)

Kim, it is Spring time now. Don't you wanna go to local barber shop?

Seriously, if you can show me a side-by-side shots of HS50 and FZ200 at the same time and same settings (except constant f/2.8 of course on the long end) then I will be happy to see what you are bragging about here. Shoot also on the longend without TC and any aid on your FZ200.

It is very clear from all the images that have appeared here and also from the only test that has been made, the HS50 has poor sharpness at the telephoto position. That you deny this is the right ridiculous.

As Joms said what planet are you on.

The Fujifilm FinePix HS50EXR represents a definite step forward for the series, at times pushing towards a giant leap. The positives are clear: there's a more responsive autofocus system than before that's now always engaged even at the longest of focal lengths, alongside improved image quality and the eminently usable design.

I need say no more

It is better than previous models, just as it should be, but the test also shows weaknesses in telephoto shooting. Just like I said.
