New Soft button company. One word... Beautiful!

Buddy just told me about them. A tad expensive, but man they look good. Just placed an order for when my x100s comes in.

Cool looking buttons. When i first bought into the fuji system with my XE1 i did not understand the thing at all. Now i have a red button and understand Get it. It helps both the look and ability to shoot, much nicer to press than the standard shutter button.

Grossly overpriced imo. A set of 6 beautifully crafted ebony tuner buttons for my guitar could be had for $25. Ebony looks cool but I'm not digging the other wood options, I don't think they'd look good on the XPro1.

I wasn't cool enough so I bought this $8 soft button from Amazon.

I went buggy over them when I saw them and got a red ladybug button. This is a serious camera and needs a little lightening up, XE1.  I haven't shot with it yet but I love my 'shutter bug'.

$30 for a part that cost less than $1 to produce.  That's a heck of a profit margin.

I like that one much more than these wooden buttons. Doesn't make sense on a metal body for me.

I followed someone's advice and used nail polish liquid. Still there after 3+ months...

Actually around $20 but most things are overpriced. Our wonderful Fujis probably cost 1/3 of sale price to make, or less.  If it gives you pleasure, do it. You only live once.

Mine was about $10 shipped Convex in shiny red. It needs to occasinally be tightened as it did comes loose and fall off. Since i have a old style cable release that screws on the same place I do not want to do anything that will glue it on. (Yes, I know the lens on the body looks crooked, it is, due to the converted but I was able to fix that)

I've also purchased a soft button (not from this particular site), but after reading some posts I'm afraid to use it.  I've read that the soft button makes it very easy to damage the shutter button should it become caught or snagged on something.  Makes sense I suppose, as I can't imagine it would take much leverage to pull out a shutter button :-(.  Am I being too paranoid?  That being said, these are some very cool soft buttons!

I think so. More than likely if actually snagged the accessory would come off and not damage anything. Perhaps some stick up more than others making it prone to this but mine is low. Not sure why it is called 'soft' as mine is hard.

DON'T put nail polish in the shutter release! Don't use teflon thread tape! These things can leave residue inside the shutter mechanism. Solution: use an o-ring. See here: http://www.fujix-forum.com/index.php/topic/7053-soft-release/#entry78625
