SX50...snow scene...

We just got approx 4 more inches of snow last night...heavy wet stuff that coated the trees. These were taken at the edge of our woods...

Question: Did you use the Snow setting under the Scene mode?

Very nice, peaceful scenes: I could almost smell snow in them !

God achievement, thank you for sharing with us!

Some would say you were right the first time! Snowing here in Southend as well, very dry and drifting, but not very deep.

Back garden a few minutes ago.

No, I did not...sometimes I think it gets overexposed that way....

Re: SX50...snow scene...

I was walking in the woods yesterday and it was quite hard. There were areas that I was knee deep in the snow and I wasn't sinking all the way to the ground either. We have a pretty good base of snow here yet....

Intersting that you think so. Besides the SX50HS I also have the approximately equivalent Nikon P510 camera. When I took a few snow scenes with it in the Snow setting in the Scene settings mode, I too felt that they were somewhat overexposed. I got better resuts (still in the Snow setting) by reducing the EV by -0.3. So it seems that Canon and Nikon share the same small flaw in  this rspect.
