Bag for Nex 6 with SEL 1650

I just bought the Nex 6 with the SEL1650 kit lens. I was attraacted to it because of its small size. But it is definitely not a pocket camera. I don't like belt bags, so I've been looking for a shoulder bag which will hold only the camera, the lens and a spare battery .I've found several, but they are so heavily padded, that the size advantage of my camera over the size of my DSLR is lost.

I'm careful with my cameras. I have never damaged one by dropping it or banging it against a hard object. I don't need a camera bag with heavy padding to protect my equipment.

Is there a shoulder bag, preferably without zippers, with minimum padding, for my Nex 6?

Yes, buy the Golla bag, Model CG1111.  Mine is black with a yellow interior.  It does have a zipper closure, but it is just the right size.  I bought it at Target, reurnable if you do not like it. Holds the camera and 1650 PZ only, no other lenses.  I am very happy with it.

My NEX-6, with the 16-50 attached, just fits and no more into a Tamrac Jazz Zoom 20. You could probably fit a spare battery in the space left under the lens, or put it in one of the small side nets if it isn't raining.

I've been eyeing this one for purchase http://amzn.com/B004OR14HI

Doesn't look bigger then the Gulla bag suggestion from target. It does have padding but this one can be shoulder or belt and looks pretty compact. I even found a youtube video

This looks like a very nice fit for the nex-6 with 16-50. I was then checking out the case logic site and found they also have a holster bag which is designed to be used with camera straps: http://www.caselogic.com/en-US/US/Products/Camera-Cases/Compact-System-Camera-Bags/CHC_-_101_-_BLACK_-__-_CompactSystemCameraDayHolster but I like the case one more.

P.S. I am not affiliated with the Case Logic in any way, shape or form...just doing research and actually liked their products. At Amazon prices $13 bucks - I think it's a steal for a brand name case (which looks like it might be decent quality and good size).

I have that case logic holster and it worked out pretty good with my nex-5r. With the 16-50 attached it doesn't fit quite as snug as with the 35 1.8, but neither configuration moves around too much in the holster. Although I wish the velcro extended a little more. As it is now, I can still throw it into a regular bag or backpack and not have to worry about it getting scratched or falling out so I think it works out.

Have you looked at the dashpoint 20 or 30?

I picked up a dashpoint 20 from bestbuy.com for $10 for my pre-ordered nex-3n.
http://www.bestbuy.com/site/Lowepro---Dashpoint-20-Camera-Pouch---Slate-Gray/6459279.p?id=1218738047184&skuId=6459279

From what I've read it'll be a tight fit for the 6 + 16-50 lens. But it should fit. If you are concerned you could always step up to the dashpoint 30 at the same price:

What attracted me to the bag was the mechanism for attaching it to a belt/bag. I have mine rigged up attached to one of the shoulder straps of my backpack. So the camera will always be right there for me to grab.

Take a look at this video review of the 30 linked below to see what I'm talking about:

It also comes with a shoulder strap.

Good suggestion. Thanks.

Picked up that Lowepro Dashpoint 30 at my local Best Buy for $5 plus tax. I had a $5 rewards certificate. Good deal. The 20 model was too small for my NEX-5R w/ 35 1.8. The 30 fits well.
