Balloon snap

Hot air balloon show. The "drivers" lit the flames in sequences according to music played. Had to take a few shots to get one where they were all lit

88th Birthday

Hi: Well I see you are still getting plenty of excellent photos and chasers.

Thanks for commenting on the Sony Forum.

This is what I did for my 88th birthday.

Street Photos - Thanks

Thanks for the reply.  It was actually quite cool.  You'll see that most people have either sweaters or light jackets on to keep warm.  But it was comfortable that way.  It was probably near 50 degrees F (10 degrees C).  The silver man has been doing this for many years, I think maybe more than 7 years now.  He used to perform closer to downtown Portland, but the last two years I've noticed him here at the Saturday Market.

Re: Balloon snap

You did very well with that, taking that picture at night at ISO2000.  That is a nice colorful display over what looks like snow.

Re: mine

Those are good interior pictures with some very nice furnishings.  My favorite picture is the one of the stairs.  It looks so expensive and elegant.  I couldn't imagine living in something like that.

Re: 88th Birthday

Again, Happy Birthday.

Yes, it looks like you had a beautiful sunny day and -5C, 23F doesn't seem all that bad as long as it isn't windy. Tomorrow and Saturday we are supposed to have sunny weather too. I guess my spring chores are going to have to wait. It will be time to play with my cameras and take more pictures.  I'm glad you liked my street photos and chasers. I hadn't done that for sometime; been taking lots of wildlife pictures which is normal for me during the winter months. Oh, I did take my annual polar plunge pictures about four weeks ago; there were plenty of pretty chasers there too.

Here is one picture of them.

Glad you are able to catch these crazy people.

They do it here as well but I'm not going out like you.

Neat

Thanks

Re: 88th Birthday

Fortunately, the air temperature wasn't too cold and it wasn't raining.  But I brought two umbrellas with me, just in case.   The water temperature was somewhere near freezing, since it's snow melt from the mountains.  They aren't in the water for more than a few seconds.  It's nice hearing from you.  You look well in your pictures.

Re: Balloon snap

Thanks for the compliments, it is snow indeed

White balance & exposure are always some sort of compromises in this kind of situation... Personally I think that general mood counts more than top notch accuracy

Re: Mutant Frog

That's an interesting statue.  What's the reason that it's there?

Re: Temple in the Morning

That's another interesting picture.  Could you tell us a little about the temple?  Where was this photo taken?  I like quality of your image from an older Canon DSLR camera.

It shows me that kids like to have fun.  We adults should do more of that also.
