D800: how many pushes for a 1:1 view?
How many pushes of the magnify button does it take for a 100% view in playback mode? And what do these 4x/8x/12x mean? 4x of what?
Thanks in advance.
I can't answer how many for a 1:1 view, but I can say that no magnification is the entire picture on your LCD and 2 x is zoomed in so the entire image is twice the size of your LCD, etc.
But your question is very interesting. Why don't manufacturers put on a 1:1 zoom option on the LCD as that has got to be, by far, the most popular view for jobbing photographers.
Two down from maximum. Which is called Medium magnification in the f2 setting.
Nine presses = 100% Or as iJosst wrote, just go to max and bump down by 2.
You can configure the central button of the multiselector to zoom at 100% on your reproduced image. That's function F2, choosing zoom as the custom function for the central button, and then "medium enlargement" which turns to be 100%. I always found that trick very valuable to check for basic sharpness, although one must bear in mind that we are looking at a simple JPG.
