The Sigma 30 is getting to be my favorite lens!

Thank you for the nice Arizona photos.  I like that focal length too, though my lens of choice is the SLR Magic 35mm f1.4 lens.  It is long enough for portraits with great bokeh, but wide enough for good street photography and scenes.

I just received one and I agree. BTW it focusses instantly even on my E-P2, and is among my sharpest.

I like v. much your abandoned madhouses project, and it seems that the Sigma suits very well, although I might have used a 35mm eq.

But everything is in perspective cues, so congrats.

Thanks!

it's always a tough call whether to go with the 17 or 30... I have always been more drawn to the "normal" perspective, yet recognize that often, when they work, that my photos from a 35mm (eq) are better. Normal seems safer... and for the asylum set, we were in a real hurry -- trying to beat sunset and avoid security -- so I just shot with the 30. I did have my 17 in my pocket... maybe next time!

I got the Sigma on the $150 deal. Great lens and I like the AF. I have my Oly 45 for the rare occasions I want to work with shallow DoF.
