Bird ID Needed
These were taken this past week in Palm Beach, Florida. Can anyone tell me what kind of birds these are? I don't know if they are juveniles or adult; heron or egret, or something else.
Thanks in advance.
This forum hosts a thread called the Sunday Bird where you would get an answer for your question and it is open to all cameras so will not upset anyone for being posted in a dslr forum. There are many knowledgeable birders who frequent this forum so I suspect you should get an answer.
There is a Sunday Bird thread here I follow and post to now and then so I figured this forum would have the more knowledgeable members.
From your photos I would say they are Cattle egret.
They are not a native bird which originally came here from Africa. The birds nest in colonies.
Thanks Andrew. I do post to the Sunday thread now and then. I saw a lot of interesting birds on this trip and plan to post some more pics this coming week. I was just hoping to find out before then.
Thanks very much GR.
Shame on you for the rude response.
The person was requesting a bird ID. Lot's of birders on this page, who are birders. Can't think of a better place for answer to the question.
I post here because I am familiar with the members, appreciate their opinions, and want to support the forum.
OTOH, I checked out the birdforum site and it is pretty good. I posted a thread there and we'll see what they say. I also looked around at some other threads there and was able to identify another bird I was wondering about. Site bookmarked! Thanks.
