The red sun fooled us! Luckily blue is my favourite color.

Corrected blue snow. Do you like it??

The original is a wonderful photo. I gave it a try because the snow was just too blue for me.

Kind regards.

Yes, it was too blue! I like it now! Which program did you use?

Thanks.

WOW!  Much better!  So, what was wrong with the first one?  White balance off?    As a new G15 owner, very happy!!

Can I have a play too? I wouldn't do it without your permission.

Against the usual rules of play, I have found that if I set the White Balance to 'Cloudy' for snow scenes, I get much better results without the 'blue snow syndrome.'

I used photoshop, more details are in the forum message
1

I used Photoshop. I opened the image using the "Open As" command, and in the Open As menu I selected Open as: Camera RAW . After you open the image in this way it gives the same options as editing a RAW file. I've selected just the snow (the sky was left intact) and I adjusted the white balance on the snow. Also I've decreased the saturation on the snow and increased both clarity and contrast. And voila. It's not difficult at all and can be done in less than 5 minutes.

Hope my advice helped you.

Happy shooting with your G15

Just a different implementation of the WB tool. Image processed in Oloneo PhotoEngine and will be withdrawn in say 24hrs.

But snow is somewhat of a blue tint in real life.  Your version does not look natural.

Fix and advice

Whenever you have a color issue with an image, if you are using PS or PS Elements the easiest way to correct it is to go in to "levels" and then try setting the white point, gray point, and/or the black point.  Just click on the droppers (white, gray or black dropper) and then click on a corresponding part of the image that should be white, gray, or black.  This will easily correct color issues with just one click.  I fixed the OP's image with just one click using the gray dropper only.  Then I set the exposure to plus a little over a stop (snow and/or a bright light source tends to make your camera underexpose).  I did no other processing.  I figured that the snow would naturally pick up some of the hue of the sun and the corn stocks wouldn't be totally black.  Here is the quick fix result:
