Yes, I like that one more (the B&W).  Imagine now the other shot with the kid but with this B&W. I think I would like it much more, may be worth the experiment.

Where is this? Is this like a known location where people go to the river to bathe?

I´ve really enjoyed looking at some great photos in this thread and it´s good to see a lot of people sharing their images. I remembered I had a few B&W photos from the DP1s cameras that I liked. I normally shoot in colour but occassionally experiment a bit with B&W so here are 6 B&W Sigma Photos:)

All are taken from where I live. Hope you like them:)

Re: I have trouble selecting only 6

so I'll do it by camera. Plus I tend to think about 'places' rather than specific photos.

Almost anything of a 'big view' at Lake Tahoe, I adore Sand Harbor for example and haven't been to Lake Tahoe now for years. These views stay in my mind

or this one

this is one of my favorites, from Tuzigoot ruins near Sedona

a special DP1 shot

and probably something new from Death Valley with the DP2Merrill, this January trip although anything from Death Valley is special... very subtle colors despite the starkness of the desert... I really like this rock outcrop near the base of the Zabriskie Point viewing platform. I've shot it several times over the years, but never with such detail as with the DP2Merrill

this is a SD10, I have better shots with the SD14, but they're on flickr

All taken with an SD15 and the 17-50 kit-lens. Eventually I sold the camera after just a few months  and switched to a Micro Four Thirds set-up (which I love for speed and convenience), but I do miss the Foveon touch...

Re: Original out of camera shot

Wow Dave: That shot really pickup some real drama in the conversion to B&W. I like it much better in monochrome. Thanks for sharing the before and after. I have high hopes for the B&W option in the up coming SPP.

Oh and find your last shot interesting because it's like the same type of shot I took of the Castro.... we even have a car going by in a blur!

Would be interesting if we took shots of different theaters that look that way, with the same composition, and of theaters with that kind of "vertical billboard" with the theater name and put them in a sequence.

that's why I post it. I like that shot because it speaks pretty much for itself when it comes to the location and the movements just adds life to it.

here's another I really like:

Hope to see your photos! I do not think there are many pinoys with Sigma cameras around. I could be wrong of course.  I'm sure there are many with lenses. Sigma dp1s is tricky to use and frustrating at times, but I just love the images it produces. Something far  unique unto it. though I think many of my shots have been oversharpened.

Re: Original out of camera shot

Thanks. I can see the original has a lot of tonality captured and then you can go from there to where you ended.  I could see the original going other places with the right processing too, but I love the B&W you got.

That one looks a LOT like one Sigma used for their SDxx forgot what it was. Did they use your shot?

Re: A few of mine...

Nice!  I have seen your cat shot before and I think the last shot. But very nice. I like the first for variety of colors and objects that may suggest some area, and the balloon shot- wow. Where you on a balloon yourself? I am scared of heights!

Re: Please post 6 favorite Sigma shots you have taken...

Shot #2 and #3 are my favorites, in particular #3. Looks like some fantasy movie scene. #2 because the way the flag is in relation to the light and clouds plus angle makes it more dramatic. I normally don't like tilted shots much but this works.

Last and first are my favorites. The "Bear Guy" is also interesting.  The last one looks like a pencil/pen/something like that drawing, very interesting.
