flatlands

kangaroo wont spend much time here preferring to transit through here at night, there isnt enough cover for them and there are better choices nearby

Re: flatlands

Nice shot, Riley.

Reminds me very much of the Hills. You might be surprised by the kangaroos. We occasionally saw them on our 30 acre farmlet out in the open in the middle of the day.

thanks

a few clicks further on the right of the photo is a really dangerous stretch of road, its hilly with lots of twists and turns, its subject to frequent mists and fogs and it has a hidden surprise.

Kangaroo cross the road at night from the sanctuary of the forest on one side to the abundant water on the other. Ive been through there late and come across entire families making their way across, and the road is such you might only have 90m or so from when you see them. Young guys on bikes hike through there at 120kmh and more in place !

Dangerous + !

Re: West Vancouver

Rilley, it is on the left entering the harbour.  The suspension bridge is the Lion's Gate Bridge.  I will post an image of it next week from the seaward side although the backdrop to the bridge from that angle is not the best.  A little to the left of the image shown is more of "West Vancouver".   West Vancouver can be seen on the side of the 'hill' in the background in the image below.  This image was taken from the inner harbour from the waterline of "downtown" Vancouver.  If you look at the enlarged image you will see the Lion's Gate Bridge about in the centre To the left in this image is the area refered to as Coal Harbour, for reasons that are not obvious to me.

Re: One from yesterday

The building and structures look like they have snow plastered to them in blobs.  Cross country, downhill skiing, or both?  Looks cheerful!

Re: More of a Horsescape

Nicely composed image.  Don't know if it is monochromatic by conversion or by nature.  A very fine image, the fog makes it!

Mostly downhill (Alpine), and also, I don't know how to translate it, in German it is called skitour gehen, i.e. hiking up the hill and then skiing down. Sort of like hiking through the mountains and forests but on the skis.
Bw, these phone cams store rather accurate GPS coordinates, this Firefox plugin will show where exactly the image was taken on the map,
FxIF 0.4.5

Amazing, is not it.

Did you add blur/fog with some plugin or is it how it was? I do like the depth and perspective in this frame, looks good.
