How effective is the OIS on the nx210

I bought this camera about 3 weeks ago and was most impressed with the sharpness/resolution on the 18-55 lens.  So, got the 50-200 and on tripod it is also very sharp but handheld with OIS it does not seem to be doing a very good job at reducing camera movement.  Now, I'm an old geezer and admit that my hands are not as steady as they once were but I tried a few shots at 130, 150 and 200mm  with OIS on and they were all a bit soft.  Even at 1/250th shutter speed.  Has anyone had the same experience?

There is something wrong with your lens or setting. I can pretty sharp pics at 1/40 a sec at 200mm. Do you have examples with exif data?

This shot from Tripod  1/200S @ f8

This shot Hand Held with ISO on---1/320S @ f7.1

Both are at 100%  Focal point on bottom shot was the lattice work.

Both shots look pretty good to me. I really don't see a problem with the handheld at 1/320 a sec.

Bryan, Paul---Thanks to both of you for your input and sharing your experience.  It's supposed to be warmer today so I will re-shoot and ask you to review if I still think there is a difference.  Bryan, I bought the camera based on your comments early-on.  I appreciate that and really like the set up.  Think it's going to free me from my heavy dslr and lenses.  Only wish that the display was an articulated one.

The articulating display is a really nice option. I'm planning on the getting the NX300 when it's released partly for that reason. The NX210 will be my backup camera at that point.

Re: How effective is the OIS on the nx210

Sounds like a good plan Bryan.  Not sure my budget will be able to handle that but I'd like to follow. I would want toj see more than the photo of it though.  Photo, for me at least, doesn't make it appear to be too substantial.  I sure like the one on my G11.  Especially nice for older shooters like myself who find it difficult, if not downright impossible, to get on our knees and get up again.

I reshot the fence this afternoon and apologize to you and paulhome.  My shots were tack sharp when I kept the shutter speed around 200.  Looks like my Canon 30D and lenses will go on the auction block.

Thanks again for your help.
