Cheetah stand alternative?

$90 for this stand seems a bit steep.  Anyone know of a stand that opens and closes on it's own for less?

Re: Cheetah stand alternative? Denny EZ stand

Similar in price but they sometimes offer it at a special rebate (not ATM). Or get it for lower from:

Are you talking a regular stand or a century stand?

If regular, I bought some from fotodiox to replace some kit stands.

At the time I bought mine, they were selling a two-per-kit for ~70USD.  They have served me well.

Google things like, "self collapsing photography light stand" and "self folding photography light stand".

Try the same searches on Amazon and ebay.

MPEX had the Denny EZ-1 for $60 so I grabbed one of them to check out.  Hopefully it works as well as the Cheetah I got to play with a few months back.

Read this review for the comparisons between those 2 stands:

I have the cheetahstand and it has been working great. It's sturdy and durable. I was looking at the Denny  EZ Stand before I found that post. I am glad I went w/ the cheetahstand.
