I like it !

Will you give us some more info about lenses used that night ?

Did you used Capture NX, Photoshop or Lightroom ? Did you apply some noise reduction ?

See my thread D4 against V2 !

See my thread D4 against V2 !

The problem with your fashion pictures is that you used a lens with F 5.6

You could have used an Ft1 with a 50mm 1.4 !

Thats 4 stops brighter and you´d have both faster shutter speed and lower iso value..

The series 1 works very well at 1600 iso but there are not enough fast series 1 lenses !

Sorry, pedant alert: FT1+50/1.4 wide open gives 3/4ish moon bokeh circles. I have photographs. Stop down a little and it's OK.

correct but we dont have any bokeh problems here because at the fashion show we dont have

any lights like on a christmas tree where it becomes a big problem....

The 50 1.4 is safer then the 85 1.4 because the lens is smaller..

Love to see a portrait from a CX 18.5/f1.8 owner of their significant other/dog/cat/hamster/spider, wide open, with a Christmas tree in the b/g. I might get an 18.5 for the aperture and the sharpness, but the outdoor bokeh I've seen on posted shots looks like the 35/f1.8 DX, and that isn't a compliment.

Great shots Giuseppe!  I feel too many dismiss the V1 for what it can't do rather than appreciate what it can do in the right hands, like yours.

Thank you for posting these to showcase what this little camera can do!

Best regards,
- Jon

The V1 is just as capable as the D4 ... it just doesnt have the fast lenses that you can get for Fullframe in the lower focal length region....

as soon as you take the super primes ie 2-200 or the 2.8 - 300 you will see that the

V1 can do just as good......in the same hands as a D4 can....

There is just a lack of fast lenses thats all !

Fantastic set of images. Hard to believe they came from such a small sensor, especially at a fairly high ISO.

You are obviously very talented to get the best out of it.

Re: 1600 iso with V1

Hi,

the lenses used are the 30-110 nikkor for the brides and 10-30 for the night shots in the city.

I used Lightroom for PW and ifor noise reduction.

I have a 50mm f1,8 too usable with the ft1 but I was far from the subject!

Nice set, which shows that even with those slow kit lenses one can capture the one or other interesting scene under more low light conditions. - Like especially your 6th shot here, with that peek to follow also the peoples action on the edge of such an events. Good capture of a side action moment!
