BG-E6 Battery Grip Not Showing Remaining Life, Should it?
This is a genuine Canon Grip and I thought it was supposed to display remaining life for both batteries, can someone please explain to me how to see, perhaps I need to turn on a setting or I'm doing something wrong? Thanks!
Yes. Though I sometimes have to pull and reinsert my batteries to show the two charge states, but it works fine on both my 5DII grips. (For some reason, sometimes only one battery will show up unless I do a "pull and replace.")
Is there a setting that should be turned on?
What path in the menu do I take to view the remaining power?
My 5D II is new and the grip is lightly used, not sure why it wouldn't work.
I just scroll over to "Battery Info" and the two battery states and charge appear on the screen.
Does your camera show individual battery information without the grip? Perhaps we can narrow down the problem.
Yes, I actually registered both Canon brand batteries when inserted directly into the camera. I discovered yesterday that with the grip inserted the total battery life seen in the top display reads 100% even when there is less than 50% life remaining.
Well, that IS weird. I'm out of ideas. I own two of the Canon grips and, while I find the construction rather flimsy, the battery readings are fine.
