All A77 ...

I thought I would start an A77 blog in order to show off how capable the A77 actually is. So comments are welcome. I think the A77 has gotten a bad rep. (maybe I'm wrong, but still fun to start the blog) which it does not deserve...

All very well, and very interesting, I have no doubt, but, as usual with tumblr:

Nice shots there.  I would be interested in the lenses you used.  Could not find a way to pull that up.

I only have one camera, an A77 so I'm a little biased, but I agree it's seriously under rated.

My own blog is 99% A77, just a few shots from my old Oly E-3.

30s Night Shot

Shot in RAW with the A77 and 16-50. The only NR was the default setting in Sony's IDC RAW converter. Hit the "original size" link for best detail.

Re: All A77 ...

Always good to get new info out there and present the capabilities of the A77.

Don't know why it gets a bad rap, there are a lot of people that like to pick on individual limitations against outlining the strengths. Many pro photographers use the Sony Alpha's now including Gary Phong and they usually comment on the quality of colour and output from the device.

In my experience being in groups photo shooting always gives opportunities to see the other advantages. The articulated screen is great (us old photographers complain of having to bend down when low shooting on tripods at night) and in doing that being able to focus on an almost black subject on a black background (with the green box) is excellent.

Constant focus (in video) and rapid fire shooting, good battery life, even the built-in gps can all be little things that other photographers gasp at when they know the Sony has it and there camera doesn't.

I love the EVF and although it takes other photographers by surprise, if they had a bit of time with it to see the 'live view' opportunities it presents I am sure they would see the advantage there too.

Good to have new blogs and present new info, keep up the good work.

Great idea!

I would put some bigger images though. The images size of the gallery are a little on the small size. Try, something like 750-1024px on the bigger side of the photo.
