Need help to decide between Lumix G3 and Nex-5N
I have been a compact camera user for last 5 years. Finally decided to take the plunge :). I dont think I will be able to carry around the DSLR buik. The mirrorless camera's interested me mainly because of the form factor.
I will be mostly using it for the taking family photos (my kids) and vacation photos. I have looked at both Lumix G3 and Nex-5n (They fit in my budget) and kind of confused reading through the reviews. I would like your help in deciding.
I suppose if you never wanted additional lenses or a flash, then the Sony is a better choice from a point-and-shoot perspective. The bigger sensor of the NEX-5N is going to allow you to shoot in lower light without resorting to flash sooner. But the Panasonic has a deeper system (at least currently), so if your wants or needs change, the G3 is more adaptable. Adaptability is rather the point of having an interchangeable lens camera system.
Thanks for the perspective. I would be mostly be using the kit lens to begin with. I wanted to keep the option of buying more lenses if I really get interested more into the photography. Are either of these two better for constantly moving subjects (like children)? I read conflicting views on these. Having a real world opinion would be really great
