It's almost unusable, mine has been looping after clicking the POST button,

I've already lost two replies.

Biggest crime is this explosion of white every time on a dark page.

That is going to be seriously tiring and not conducive to a light

Fail so far.

First request, enable yellow on black as an option in the posts.

it's going to be OK.

Access to photos on an iPad is a big advantage, IMHO

This new layout totally sucks...if I do say so myself.

I don't see anything that I would classify as an improvement. It merrily looks like change for the sake of change. So, what were the complaints about the old interface? Was anyone actually requesting changes? I don't remember seeing any.

I suspect I'll be looking for better ways to spend my time. Out taking pictures - perhaps.

Yellow text looks better than the blue text to me.

Is it possible please that when I type ANY reply or indeed make a NEW post to a new thread..do I ALWAYS have to continually keep UN-ticking that dratted box at the bottom of the post, to say or indicate that I do NOT want any note if a response comes in.

Why cannot I UNTICK the box and it then be treated as UNTICKED for every post I make thereafter..until I myself may decide otherwise..

Same with Notifications...my Profile ALREADY shows a tick/cross in EVERY box saying that I do NOT want notifications..yet my incoming mailbox STILL keeps getting what is a useless mail-note .. of which I have quite enough already, as do so many..with the blasted rubbish mails these days.

Can't say I'm impressed!

Looks like some software guy needed some cash for Christmas.

A less oblique insult I never received, even since Google told me they weren't evil.

Interestingly, I can't remove your downunder shot, to sling in my own pearl !

I just figured out what the formatter looks like, WordPad;

definitely last millennium vintage.

THAT's a good one..I'd not seen such place and I've now just done a copy/paste of my note above to the Feedback location...

Not sure how much notice they'll take of these..such a lot of complaints it seems..SOME I do have to say are what I suppose is a sort of expected reaction to what is a quite major design change to so many.

I hope at least a few things do get altered as it is not by any means the best of layout for many people.

Another one ..you don't now seem to be able to get a sort of 'review' of your newly typed note/reply...all you see is what you've typed..then it goes..warts 'n all   !!

I was wrong about that. The preview is embedded into the post (WYSIWYG).

Also--all these thumbs up or down, and member ratings.... Feels a bit like junior high school. Are we mere contributing members allowed to eat lunch at the veterans' table?

Re: New Display !!!! Wasted Space

I don't like the wasted space on the Forum display for New Thread, and Question?

Could be moved to the one 'compressed' line.

How to Fix Your Index Page

At the top of the forum index page, click Collapsed.

At the bottom, next to "Color Scheme?" click Yellow.

There.  Now it's only a little worse than the old layout.

Sorry Walt but you're a little late...I dd all that just an hour or so after the new-fangled Forum displasy was thrust on me...

But I soon found that it was still very much of a change..for the worse.. in many ways...

However - I did put comments into posts AND used the Feedback location that I think has been very much respected by "those up there"...and am pleased to see that quite a few of the obvious things creating loads of criticisms have in fact been changed - or are in the process of being changed.

The much larger line spacing was clearly bad..THAT has now been changed noticeably.  As part of that..I (and maybe a lot of others) have remarked on the fact that in collapsed mode you do not see the name of the OP as before...THAT is now changed back.

And just an hour or two ago I noticed (only yet on a few Forums) the Votes column which I still don't see any use for at all..) has now gone or going..and the removal of that has given more width for the main heading line of each original post ...MUCH better.

It does seem that we are being listened to..it will remain differnt in a lot of ways I'm sure..  but with luck it WILL get back to some reality and more like the original in a lot of ways.  I stil think the typing section for replies leaves a bit to be desired.  The old "Review" of a post BEFORE you sent it, really isn't there now..it makes it a bit hit-and-miss on whether you've got it all as you wish..you CAN get it back to Edit but it's only AFTER it is sent...not quite the same..
