LR update for the D600

I know I've been wanting LR to update to add the D600. So I thought some of you may be interested in this Twitter message from Jeffery Tranberry, the Product Manager for Adobe.

Well, their version 4.2 RC is out now for beta testing, but I believe they can make the change before it's out as a final version. Let's hope!

Re: LR update for the D600

You can reportedly edit the EXIF, replacing 'D600' with 'D4' and then LR will allow you to fully edit the files. No camera-specific profile, but I'm not sure if that matters.

I just tried it and it works. Seems to be a work around for now. Thanks.

Re: LR update for the D600

I tried that with "D800" and found it cropped off a good chunk of the photo; heard it did the same for "D4" as well.

Another good reason to not jump into these new cameras too soon!

It seems to have with the "D4" images as well with some of them. I think I'll just wait now.

Once you have your images uploaded to a file on your computer, select all or one of them and bring up the properties box. Click on the details tab and scroll down where it says camera. Under camera you'll find camera make, edit this so it says D4 and you're good to go! All you'll have to do then is import the files into LR.

I'm assuming this is only if you have LR 4.0+, not LR 3.6.

In Win7, I can see this works with jpegs but with NEF's there's no EXIF detail and no ability to edit. Any help?

It should be coming out REAL SOON!

You are correct. You need to upgrade to LR 4

It is on my W7 computer. Right click on the image and then> properties> details. Scroll down to camera then click on camera model. Hope this helps.

Consider it one of many great reasons to upgrade to 4
