Brando Sight Revisited

There was an earlier thread about this sight which pointed out the problem with the hot shoe adapter.

I found a easy and cheap solution and posted in the Open Talk Forum

I felt that anyone shooting planes or birds could use this sight.

Photography has a lot in common with pipe smoking.

There is far more fiddling around with the equipment than there ever is in using it!

Great thinking, Peter!

I assume that in the Open Talk post, you meant to say:"Easy & IN-expensive fix", not "easy and expensive"

Also, could you clarify for those of us who don't have a Brando sight in hand, just where the glue goes?

I have a Daisy red-dot sight, and I keep seeing how compact the Brando is......

Re: Brando Sight Revisited

Erik,

You can see in the photo where the upper lock nut meets the rail.

Screw the upper lock nut down towards the hot shoe foot then place the glue on the rail where the upper lock nut will hit when you screw it back up to the rail. The idea is to glue the lock nut to the rail. By the way, the glue should be Krazy Glue® or equivalent in order to get a secure bond.

The lower nut will be used to secure the device to the camera's hot shoe.

The Brando Sight is small and works well. It costs $42.00 in the US. It comes from Hong Kong and takes about 10 business to days to arrive

Hope this helps.
