WB210 , how does it achieve 21mm wide equivalent? Switching built in lens?

im thinking of getting the wb210 for ultra wide shots while still having a compact package. additionally,. the 12x zoom is a bonus. im curious how it can do it with such a thin depth in the camera tho? does it literally switch to another fixed 21mm lens inside? i read somewhre that the 21mm isn't really 21mm and almost just as wide as other 24mm cameras.. is this true?

i wonder why no other cameras do this? is there some kind of disadvantage? I think it would be cool if more other compacts have even wider built in features like this.

thanks!

It is a real 21mm, you choose the 21mm option from the menu and you can hear the lens moving to that position.
Normally this camera is a 24mm.

The disadvantage, at least the way Samsung implemented it, is that it allows hardly any combination with other functions/adjustments/settings, not even video.
